Learning Toys
Good learning toys stimulate the child’s imagination while helping them to learn concepts and problem solving. They will also promote the development of certain skills. Keeping the child entertained while these lessons are passed on is the primary goal of these toys.
Learning toys that teach number and letters are some of the most common. Until recently these concepts were usually not very thrilling because it was often a set of magnetic letters, books, or wooden puzzles that taught them the symbols used to make certain sounds or represent certain numbers. Today electronic reader toys allow children to read books interactively with sound and pictures, many of these toys have interchangeable books so that a number of stories can be told to teach about letters and numbers.
Other fun learning toys include objects like toy clocks and activity tables. Toy clocks let children learn about telling time. Activity tables are tables that have a number of toys secured to them. They play fun music and sounds and are very colorful. They have activities on them that build skills like shape matching and puzzle solving.
