Plush Toys
Plush toys used to just be cute animals stuffed with fluff for children to carry and cuddle. This no longer the case with today’s interactive toys. These toys can walk, talk, and even interact with a child for hours of fun.
Interactive plush toys became popular in the early 1980’s with creations like Teddy Ruxpin. The toy could “read” a child a story by placing a cassette tape in the player in his back. His mouth and eyes would then move along the words of the story to make the child feel like he was really talking to them.
Many of today’s plush toys are far more advanced. Not only do these toys talk and move but they can actually interact with the child through various means. They dance and sing and respond to commands given by the child. The Elmo Live toy is a good example of the ultra realistic movement and interaction these toys can provide.
